From My Heart

My very dear friends The Maldives have just released their new album "Listen to the Thunder." I am so proud of them they are all so talented! Amazing when you put all nine of them in a band together!

Jason was asked this question and I think it says it all:
"What people should expect when The Maldives take the stage - Faces melted, hearts broken. They should not expect to be "twanged."

Here is a great little article about them that includes the entire album for your listen enjoyment! Please enjoy!

Amazing boys, love and miss you!

Hello Old Friends

It has been sometime since I last blogged, but I have been so busy!

The next issue of Working Class Magazine is up and running! Please check it out! There are some great articles and amazing photos! I art directed and styled on two of the shoots and had such a good time! I am proud of everyone and all their hard work, this issue is amazing!

Some of my favorite images from the issue:

Her illustrations are amazing!

My favorite shot from our Girl with Flowers shoot.

Little Blurb!

During last weeks Fashion Night Out I was interviewed by a writer from Brokelyn.com at the store Charlie & Sam. She asked me lots of questions about bargin shopping, which I have a lot to say about, and proceeded to take a million photos! You know how much I love to get my picture taken! Anyways here it is, not exactly the wording I used, but close enough!

Moments

You all know, or I assume you do, that I am an avid WNYC and This American Life podcast listener (and I will admit I have made it through the archives as well). This video is from this weeks WNYC podcast series of shorts. It just made me feel good so I thought I would share it.

Have I Ever Mentioned

That I love taxidermy? Well I do, a lot! As soon as I live someplace where the other dwellers of my space will allow me to have it I will have it! Saw this article in the New York Times. These spaces make me jealous! Minus the cute boy with the dog and cat taxidermy. Something about having a loved animal, or what have you, stuffed does not sit well with me.

Oh the zebra rug! I know where to get one in Seattle and have thought about purchasing it when I am home in August. I would not be able to have it out in my apartment now I think, but since I would have it forever I could just store it, right?

So beautiful against the dark wall.

(I know some of you that read my blog are vegetarians, I am so sorry but I grew up in a hunting and fishing family and they are so beautiful to me!)

Kiddies

Shannon showed me this today at work. I love the Crewcuts catalog, it is so creative and fresh and the kids are too die for cute!

Sun Kissed and Freckled

Gidget kind of day.

Took the train out to East Hampton today with my roommate. We left super early in the morning to rent bikes and head to the beach. I had never been out there before and I love the beach... not so much the town, but it was a fun experience! I was too relaxed or getting a workout on the bike and we forgot to take photos. I am sun kissed and freckled.

Tomorrow is an entire day of Williamsburg music!

That I have to have this:

Its Anna Sui for Target and does not come out until September 13th. Hoping I can get my hands on it.

In Spirit

Of the day I will be spending with my little man Mika... starting in oh just four hours... I give you Loretta Lux. The images are so beautiful in that very eerie sort of way, I love them!

"Study Of A Girl" 1
(This is by far my favorite)

"Study Of A Boy" 1

"Sasha and Ruby"
(these remind me of Diane Arbus)

Loretta herself

Seasonal Inspiration

Its officially summer here in NY. We successfully had two days of sunshine with no showers in a row! Here are some images from a swim inspired shoot I did a few months ago. So excited that I have finally had some time on my roof tanning!

New Bird

Sophie Madeleine, my new favorite little bird.

You Are My Favourite:

Oh it's sitting on the tip of my tongue
as we're quietly strolling along.
I've been meaning to tell you for so long now
that it's got me stuck in a hold somehow.
You're looking me right in the eye.
We stop still and the world rushes by
and as I struggle to hide it inside I find that
I lack the courage to tell you.
And all I can manage to say is

"You are by far my favourite.
and I've been thinking it's about time that you knew.
That you are by far my favourite.
And I hope that I'm by far your favourite too."

You're looking at me ever so strange.
I guess it's time I should really explain.
You see I'm ever so glad that I met you now
I'm constantly being amazed at how you
make all my troubles dissolve.
Every kiss leaves me wanting another and my
heart hits the floor when I see you.
And I feel so sure when I say that

"You are by far my favourite.
And I've been thinking it's about time that you knew.
That you are by far my favourite.
And I hope that I'm by far your favourite too."

So will you forgive this stuttering fool?
This mess of a girl? Oh, please don't be cruel.

'Cause you are by far my favourite.
And I've been thinking it's about time that you knew.
That you are by far my favourite.
And I hope that I'm by far your favourite too.

Mad Hatter

The question of when Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland: Mad Hatter movie comes out. I love Alice as most of you know (I have an original drawing tattooed on my forearm) and don't think I have ever been more excited!

Long wait (March 5, 2010) but these look so beautiful!

I love the actor who plays the twins! Matt Lucas from Little Britain, although I am sure if he will be playing a comedy roll this time with the Tim Burton twists.

I hardly ever go see movies on the big screen, except for summer time drive-ins or on really cold winter days, but this one I will be at!

Irony

Today I went scouting in Coney Island with Jamie and Kylie. I really enjoyed myself despite being soaked due to the down pour that lasted until late this evening! Planning shots for what is supposed to be a summer time shoot in the pouring rain was more then entertaining and somehow a success.

When will this arrive?
